I wear white clothing when I teach Kundalini Yoga for many reasons. For me, I adapted easily to wearing white, as I wore white many years ago as a young nurse – so it seemed natural to be back in white, while doing something as precious to me as Kundalini Yoga.
Representing the seven colors, the color white expands your aura up to 9 feet in all directions, and Yogi Bhajan said that the color white is “good for your psyche, for your energy and for your nervous system”. I actually feel a change in me as soon as I put my white clothes on for my daily spiritual practice (sadhana) or to teach. It makes me feel more graceful and peaceful – two traits I would like more of and to share in my teaching.
The Color White:
- Represents the 7 colors.
- Is good for your psyche, for your energy and for your nervous system.
- Your way of dressing should be saintly and make you glow with grace.
- You look like a sage and a prince or princess of peace and dignity.
- Cotton is the flower of the Earth.
